Viva La Rebel – Striking Sugar Skull Fabric Design on Bold Purple

The "Viva La Rebel" fabric design features a cool sugar skull girl in a modern tattoo style. The motif combines decorative skull makeup with stylized details, creating a strong, confident look.

The intense purple background particularly highlights the motif and gives the design a striking, vibrant appeal. The combination of bold color and striking illustration makes the fabric a real eye-catcher.

Thanks to the high-contrast color palette, the design can be easily combined with simple coordinating fabrics in black, pink, gray, or white. The motif is particularly suitable for creative sewing projects with a modern, rebellious, or tattoo-inspired style.

What can be sewn from this fabric?

This fabric is suitable for many creative sewing projects. Depending on the chosen fabric type, i.e., jersey, rib jersey, or French terry, you can sew many different favorite pieces from it. This means the same print can be used for comfortable clothing as well as accessories.

The area of application also changes depending on the fabric type. Jersey is particularly suitable for soft, elastic everyday clothing. French Terry is a bit stronger and ideal for cozy hoodies, sweaters, or harem pants. Rib Jersey is well suited for close-fitting clothing, hats, or cuffs.

This results in versatile sewing projects for babies, children, and many creative ideas around fabric by the meter.

The material is particularly well-suited for:

  • T-shirts and long-sleeved shirts
  • Hoodies and sweaters
  • Joggers and harem pants
  • Children's dresses and skirts
  • Baby rompers
  • Hats and snoods
  • Accessories or small gift ideas

Types of Fabric and Material

This fabric is available as jersey, rib jersey, or French terry by the meter. Depending on the fabric type, the material is suitable for various sewing projects – from lightweight clothing to cozy sweaters or accessories.

Short jersey bloomers

Jersey

Jersey is a soft and elastic fabric that feels particularly comfortable against the skin. Due to its stretchiness, it is ideal for comfortable clothing for babies, children, and adults.

  • Weight: approx. 200 g/m²
  • Material: 95% Cotton, 5% Elastane
  • Width: approx. 150 cm

Dino Sleepsuit made from Ribbed Jersey

Rib jersey

Rib jersey has a finely ribbed structure and is particularly elastic. This makes the fabric very suitable for close-fitting clothing or cuffs.

  • Weight: approx. 220 g/m²
  • Material: 95% Cotton, 5% Elastane
  • Width: approx. 100 cm

Beats French Terry Pullover

French Terry

French Terry is also commonly known as summer sweat fabric. The right side of the fabric is smoothly printed, while the reverse side has a soft, slightly looped texture. This makes the fabric comfortable to wear and at the same time a little more stable than classic jersey.

  • Weight: approx. 240 g/m²
  • Material: 95 % Cotton, 5 % Elastane
  • Width: approx. 145 cm
  • Why pre-wash fabrics?

To ensure colors, print, and fabric structure remain beautiful for as long as possible, it is advisable to wash the fabric once before processing. Many cotton fabrics may shrink slightly during the first wash. Pre-washing prevents the finished garment from distorting later.

  • For regular maintenance, remember:

    • Washable at 30 °C on a gentle cycle
    • It's best to wash the fabric inside out to protect the print
    • Do not use bleach
    • Do not tumble dry too hot, ideally air dry & do not put in the dryer
  • This is how elasticity, colors, and print are preserved for a long time

For fabrics containing elastane, such as jersey, rib jersey, or French terry, a gentle wash program helps maintain the material's elasticity.

If the fabric is washed before cutting and subsequently cared for gently, colors, print quality, and fabric quality will be preserved even after many washes.
